New EPD-certified products in our Measurement and Monitoring business

New EPD-certified products in our Measurement and Monitoring business
At Arteche, we’re strengthening our commitment to sustainability and environmental transparency by successfully passing new Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) audits.
The certifications include:
- Inductive high-voltage transformers. The UT series is a range of inductive voltage transformers up to 550 kV. This series uses oil-impregnated paper insulation. These transformers offer high accuracy (up to 0.1%) that remains consistent throughout the device’s lifespan with maximum reliability.
- Combined high-voltage transformers. The KA series is a range of combined transformers up to 245 kV. This series uses oil-impregnated paper insulation with multiple shields for proper distribution of the electric field. These transformers offer high accuracy (up to 0.1%) that remains constant throughout the device’s lifespan with maximum reliability, as well as a wide range of primary currents from 1 to 5000 A and a short-circuit current of up to 120 kA/1s.
- Optical current transformers. Arteche’s optical current transformers are based on the Faraday effect, measuring the changes that occur in the polarization angle of light as it passes through a magnetic field. Optical current transformers offer excellent accuracy over a wide (virtually unlimited) range, greater safety (no risk of failure due to explosion), environmental protection (no SF6 or insulating gases), and are fully passive (requiring no secondary power supply).
- SDO MU Series. The ARTECHE SDO-MU is a state-of-the-art fusion unit that integrates the latest communication and measurement standards. The fusion unit processes the optical signal from the passive optical current transformer. The SDO-MU outputs IEC 61850-compliant sampled values in accordance with the latest IEC 61869-9 standard (Digital Interface for Measurement Transformers). The SDO MU supports 1PPS and IEEE1588 synchronization to time-stamp the sampled values.
With this set of certifications, Arteche continues to advance its ambitious plan to expand, by 2030, the number of product ranges with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD / DAP).
EPDs, which are not required by regulation, provide objective and quantified information on a product’s environmental characteristics based on a third-party verified assessment. These declarations are published on accredited platforms, such as the International EPD System, ensuring their transparency and credibility. They comply with the international standard UNE-EN ISO 14025:2010 Environmental Labels and Declarations, which defines the rules for product categories in product life cycle analysis. This document summarizes the environmental performance of a product (or service) from a life cycle perspective and is valid for 5 years.
